How do I book and is a deposit required

You can book in via the booking tab, emailing hello@tattyissues.com.au, or via our socials.

A deposit is required to secure your appointment and is non-refundable. With at least 48 hours notice, a deposit may be transferred once to a new date with the same artist.

Deposit amounts vary by artist, piece size and session length.

Can I reschedule or get a refund if plans change

Rescheduling requires 48 hours notice. Less than 48 hours or a no-show will forfeit the deposit. Refunds are not offered for change of mind.

How is pricing set and what payments do you take

Pricing is by the piece or hourly depending on size, placement, and complexity. We provide an estimate during consultation and confirm on the day before we begin.
We can estimate via email if you attach clear reference images and a photo of your placement with a ruler for scale. Final pricing is confirmed in person.
We accept major cards and cash. Gift cards can be used toward final payment.

Do you take walk ins?

Occasionally. Flash days and cancellations are posted on our socials. Booking ahead is recommended.

What are the age and ID rules

You must be 18 or older for tattoo services in Victoria. Bring valid government photo ID. Digital ID is acceptable if current and scannable.

Can I be tattooed if I am sick, pregnant, or breastfeeding

Please reschedule if unwell. We do not tattoo during pregnancy. If breastfeeding, consult your GP and contact us before booking. Disclose medical conditions, medications, keloid history, or skin concerns.

Will you use someone else’s design or AI art

We do not copy other artists. References are welcome, including AI-generated images, but every piece is redrawn for originality, anatomy, and flow. Cover-ups and reworks are accepted case by case and may require lightening first.

How should I prepare and can I numB The Area

Sleep well, eat beforehand, hydrate, shave the area, avoid alcohol and drugs. Do not fake tan or arrive sunburnt. Skip strong actives like retinol on the area for 7 days.

If you intend to use numbing, contact us at least 48 hours prior, patch test, and follow timing directions.

What happens on the day can I bring someone and can I take photos

Wear clean, comfortable clothing that allows access to the area. Bring water and a snack.

No tag-alongs unless discussed beforehand. We love kids and mates, just not in the studio.

Quick photos are fine with permission. Pets are not permitted except registered assistance animals.

Let us know any accessibility needs in advance.

How do I care for my tattoo and do you offer touch ups

Follow the Aftercare page. Typical surface healing is about 2 weeks, with full settling in 4 to 8 weeks. Avoid swimming and soaking until fully healed. If a touch up is needed after proper aftercare, contact us once healed. Eligibility and any fees depend on placement, design, and aftercare compliance.
